When we arrived in Milan, I was thrilled to find invitations from Aigner for the SS19 Runway Show, and the next day, we quickly headed to the show which was being held at an active military academy!
I have a true bond to Aigner, not just because of my German heritage, but also because my work in Berlin frequently confronted me with designs from the brand, and also because I just love the designs! I love the classic yet sporty vibe of the brand and the new SS19 collections embraces exactly that and so much more. Aigner uses Dadaism to mix and match prints, loud designs and colours with unexpected details.
Aigner is very much know for it's handbags in a very classic style. With this collection and the inspiration of Dadaism, the designer brought out another side of the brand. I am loving the bright colours, different styles of straps, logo prints, and the interesting shape of the handles. It was time for Aigner to jump in a direction that most of the leading fashion designers of the world are heading... which is BOLD!
The clothing pieces were out of this world. Again, now Aigner is playing with a lot of colour, prints and patterns which is amazingly interesting to look at. The pieces are beautifully cut and can make for a statement either all together or as separates. That is the beauty about Aigner, with this collection you can either take one piece and let it shine, or shine bright like a diamond when you put a few of them together!
All in all, I am loving the new look that Aigner is going for in upcoming Spring/Summer 2019. The collection was captivating and interesting and I cannot wait to get my hands on one of the new bags!
