Whether you are into fancy facials or you like the DIY way of giving yourself a face massage, but ways have major benefits when it comes to you skin texture, circulation, level of hydration and fine lines.
As much as I love the super luxury experience of going to a spa to get a facial, Let’s be real, I won’t be doing that every week (although I wish I could!). The next best thing for me has been learning how to massage my face myself at home. Incorporating a face massage into my routine has made a huge difference “the glow”, and also how the products are being absorbed into my skin. It also is a time for myself to be mindful and subtle with myself, getting in a zone of relaxation and zen.

I absolutely love using Bio Oil as a base of my facial massage, together with my gua sha for extra benefits. The beautifully hydrating ingredients of the Bio Oil immediately helps combat any dehydration, dry spots and fine lines due to dryness. The Viamin A and E rich oil is extremely hydrating and camomile is so soothing for many irritations, redness or dryness. Bio Oil is also often used to speed up the healing process for burns or aid in healing scars. It also is the perfect texture to help glide easily on the skin without any pulling.
I use the gua sha in the way shown above, and while it may seem a little “extra” or time consuming, but trust me it is not. You should spend at least a few min massaging your face, neck and even your décolletage, but if you are enjoying as much as I am, feel free to massage as long as it feels good on your skin.
Face massages have extreme benefits such as increased circulation, increased cell turnover, exfoliation, improved skin texture and increased collagen production which are all important processed in the anti aging regime. Additionally, your serums, creams and masks will be absorbed quicker and penetrated into deeper layers of the skin, which will ultimately give you greater benefits of your products.
Overall, everyone should be massaging their face, and finish off with a bit of slapping and dabbing of the skin, again for increased circulation and the end of dull looking skin. Tell your friends about DIY Facial massages and let’s glow together.
