This Holiday season is so different compared to the years before. We put up our Christmas Decor on November 1st to really get into the holiday spirit - also we didnt know when our baby girl would make her entrance, and we wanted to be prepared! Also, anything to distract from this worldwide pandemic is welcome, and I feel that this year Christmas has truly distracted and kept people occupied with something pleasant. More people decorated the outside of their homes, more people baked, more people shared Christmas movies they are into. If anything, Christmas has brought some light into this dim 2020 and here is hoping that next year at time we can get together with our families in person, have our friends over for cozy dinners and decorate cookies with all the little ones around.
To get even more into the holiday spirit, I am sharing a few simple things to Christmas-fy your home!
1. Decorate throughout your Home
Most of us just focus on the living room when it comes to decor, but maybe also thing about decorating other spaces that you spend a lot of time in. Whether that is your kitchen, bedroom, office etc - it really helps to intensify the Christmas spirit!
2. Decorate Outside
Add some decorations outside your home for others to enjoy! Some lights in your front yard or balcony, a wreath on your door, or a Holiday door mat all make such a difference and immediately puts everyone in the Christmas spirit. Just think about people going for walks, admiring your decor or the tired delivery person who may smile because of your nice decor!!
3. Advent Calendar
You do not have to be young to open a door of an advent calendar! There is some great DIY ideas on my Pinterest board.
4. Advent Wreath
Make your own Advent wreath and count down the weeks before Christmas by lighting a candle each Sunday! An Advent Wreath or Advent centre piece has become a tradtion and really adds to the overall Christmas Decor in our home.
