Spending the summer days in your "backyard" exploring the beauty this province has to offer has been one of my goals this summer. As much as I love travelling the world, I also do appreciate that the temperatures are truly amazing in Ontario over the summer and thus decided to explore more of what is close and around us, instead of venturing to hot destinations far away (that we will save for when it gets cold in Canada!). Before we think about all that though, let us enjoy summer and start/keep exploring.
Only a short drive outside of Toronto, we went to the country side near Milton and found ourselves at Terre Bleu. The drive reminds of simple times, something that I often crave when the city live seems to get too loud, too busy, too complicated. At the Lavender farm there are two big lavender fields, bees work hard to make honey from the gorgeous blossoms, you can visit the distillery and enjoy Lavender ice cream amongst other things. The scent of beautiful just when you step onto the farm but it does come with a $20 price tag per person during high season.
This was a beautiful day trip to escape the city and get back to nature. Next time I will pack a picnic basket and plan a picnic in the lavender field. There are other things to do in the area as well, like visiting an orchard, or a produce farm. Just keep exploring!
