Holbox, Mexico
Barba Negra
This Taco spot was the first restaurant/food hall we visited in Holbox Mexico. I read many amazing reviews about Barba Negra, even it being the "Best Tacos in all of Mexico", and while the Tacos were super amazing, fresh and flavourful I feel the Taco shells could have been better. Mind you, I am a bit of a snob when it comes to taco shells (lol). The filling of the tacos was amazing, and great different flavours, I actually wanted to go back to this spot multiple times. The price is great and you will not break the bank. In my opinion this spot is a must visit while in Holbox.
Fresco Bar+Grill
Fresco is located inside Mystique Blue in Holbox. The restaurant in located directly on the beach. While it is definitely a fine dining experience during dinner time, the staff at Fresco can really help you make the entire experience very special. We dined right at the beach, at a table facing the sunset. The dishes were superb and prepared very fresh with beautiful flavours. The seafood was delicious and steak cooked to perfection. As I said, if you are planning something special or are celebrating a milestone, let the staff at Fresco know and they will help make this a memorable evening/meal for your party!
Painapol
I am going to have to stop myself from writing a novel about this amazing place. Sadly we only discovered it on our last day of our stay, otherwise we would have been regulars at this spot. Painapol is the best place for healthy, fresh food that is not just vegan. The staff is super, super friendly, the vibe is ...just a vibe (in the best way possible) and the food is absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough good things about Painapol and I truly wish I could eat here for the rest of my days. Smoothie bowls are unreal and look amazing, the egg dish was to die for and avocado toast was amazing.
Coquitos
A great spot if you want to enjoy the sea breeze while you eat or watch the ocean. The first time we tried getting a table here we wanted to just have some drinks and the waiter told us there was a minimum order amount so we left (we just werent hungry enough) and the next day we returned finding out there is no minimum order. After this strange incident we still decided to give this place a try as it looked amazing, the decor is all white drift wood, totally our vibe. Good thing we stayed - the food was unreal, super fresh and flavourful! The ceviche was my absolute favourite but guac and tacos were delicious as well. The smoothies were very watery so I would not order those again but I would 1000% return for the food!
