Phuket is one of the more popular and well-known destinations, especially for North Americans and Europeans. The destination has so much to offer and we got a glimpse of that - I already know we need to return to explore more. From what we did see, I want to share my experience because of the many messages I received on Instagram during our stay.
It seems everyone was as obsessed with Baba Beach Club as we were! The Resort near Phuket is an absolute dream! The grounds are large with a variety of accommodations from hotel rooms to villas with private pools, kitchen etc. We were lucky enough to be able to experience the luxury villa, which has 2 spacious bedrooms with en-suit bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, living room, and pool area with lounging chairs. The villas is serviced a few times daily which includes re-stocking of the inclusive mini-bar and turn down service and a butler is always available to assist.
The resort itself features a large pool (with floating unicorns, yes!) a luxurious pool bar and a beach that you will have to yourself most of the time. In Phuket, this can be very rare and meant true luxury to me, so I made sure to enjoy morning walks and meditation here.
The restaurant is out of this world and maybe a sunset dinner will just be the perfect way to end the evening for you as well! Of course the green curry is a must, a make is made to perfection and I highly recommend the house made ice cream and sticky rice and mango which is made to perfection and not too sweet!
For everyone who wants to cuddle with elephants and make memories that will be the once-in-a-lifetime kind, take a trip to the Phang Nga Elephant Park. With so much excitement and a bit of hesitation we arrived and immediately felt the warm of the staff and volunteers in the park. Our half day adventure included learning about the elephants and their natural environment and personalities. The eight elephants each have their own person who takes care of them day and night. It is amazing to see the bond these animals have with their human. From preparing food, to feeding and riding the elephants, it was amazing to get to know these animals that are so huge but so gentle.
Riding the elephant was very special, but for me the ultimate highlight was bathing the fun loving animals. With a brush and into a pool, we gently bathed the elephants who thoroughly enjoyed the experience and playfully sprayed water from their trunks. I loved that the enjoyment was mutual. Each person taking part in the experience was absolutely overwhelmed with joy and emotions. The park and its staff create an environment for the elephants that is natural and enjoyable for them. The elephants get to go on walks in the large grounds of the park.
Phuket and its treasures was the perfect ending to an adventurous Thailand experience. I have deep appreciation for the culture, for the kindness we experienced and the level of hospitality. Forever grateful for these experiences, and I know that I will return to Thailand soon. You can discover more Thailand tips, photos, and highlights here: Bangkok and Trang.
