A quick breakfast stop at The French in Hamilton gave us the best start to the day. From there we went back on the highway en route to Niagara-on-the-Lake. On the way we found the cutest wineries and fruit stands and I could not resist the juicy peaches, grapes and other locally grown fruits and veggies.

This summer I made it a goal to explore our home province more and see and experience the beauty that Ontario has to offer. This long weekend we went to Niagara and wine country for the first time, and whomever I got advice from did not exaggerate by repeating how beautiful the area is. I am a city girl with a love for the countryside, so you can only imagine how much I fell in love with Niagara Falls and more so Niagara-on-the-Lake. The new Lincoln MKZ made sure of the smoothest & safest ride through Ontario. My favourite features are the race car like engine, massage functions in the seats and the massive sun roof that just calls for a roadside break to relax.

There are countless wineries in the area and for a free tour stop at the Pilliteri Estates Winery. On the tour you can walk through the field, get an idea of how the wines are made, sample some of the wines and shop the goodies at the end. This is such a wonderful way to look behind the scenes of the wine making art.

The Niagara Falls
- the blue Wonder

From Niagara-on-the-Lake we made our way to Niagara Falls. It was beautiful to enjoy the nature in this quiet Lincoln MKZ, cruise control and the sunroof wide open. Taking in the lush greens and with the view of the water peaking through along the Niagara Parkway is the perfect way to relax. Now spotting the Falls is just breathtaking. The colours, the amount of force from the water and the energy of the crowd who is just in awe over this miracle - all that combined made this is beautiful experience.

UNWINDING AT OUR INN

While I love staying at great big hotels normally, I wanted us to experience an Inn for this trip. This cute Inn was super close to the Falls and the entertainment area of Niagara which was filled with roller coasters, restaurants and more! It also offered parking for our Lincoln MKZ and served a wonderful breakfast!

The overall verdict? I love Niagara and the area surrounding it. It is like a mini vacation, especially in a luxurious ride like the Lincoln MKZ that makes driving feel like a breeze. Equal comfort for driver and passengers and the super intelligent GPS system made sure we were able to enjoy our drive 110%. I cannot wait to be back very soon!
