It is officially February and with the month of New Years resolutions, a view gym visits and a good healthy eating run being over, it is time to keep it going. Most resolutions only last a few days or weeks for people, and if you ask yourself or your friends who is now still sticking to their goals, you will quickly find out that mostly everyone has fallen back into their old habits. That was me too the years before but this year I tried something new, and it has really worked for me! Keep on reading and I will spill the secrets!
THE PLANNER
In order to stick to your plans you need to write your goals down, and have them in front of you. I used to do this with a simple "yearly goal sheet" in my agenda but the problem with this method is, that I never looked at it again throughout the year.based on this I created my own agenda, with personalized sections that would help me track my goals. My top three things to focus on this year are: Eating healthy (specifically two veggie days per week), exercising three times per week, and having a consistent YouTube schedule. With creating tables for each of these goals, I am able to fill in what I did! This was I am seeing right away which area needs my focus, and where I need to spend more time in order to meet my goals. At the end of the month I tabulate where I had reached my goal and it feels so good to have it all right in front on my.
RE-READ YOUR GOALS
Have your goals in a very prominent place in your house or if you use an agenda, use the first page to write down your goals. This way you can re-read them often, make it a mantra to give yourself the extra time to focus on what you thought you deserve when the year started. Remember, you did not just make these things up, they are important to you! Your may also re-write your goals, maybe once a month, once a week, every day (if you really need some focus!) and do not judge yourself, try your best! You may want to create a vision board to make your goal setting a bit more fun, or maybe create a big table that you can hang on your wall and tick off the things you did (just like I did in my agenda, just bigger!). Find your way to hold yourself accountable to what I long for!
It is so easy to write out goals on January 1st, but to actually stick to them is another story! My final suggestion is to find an inspiration for your goals, maybe a podcast, a YouTube channel, a friend or partner, who can really be your guiding force to your resolution and goal setting. Having a reminder and making your goals a lifestyle is what will benefit you in the long-term. See goal setting and achievements as a little shift in your life, a shift that will make you grow as a person, and one that might make you the inspiration that others seek.
