#MMLoveSunday
Sundays have always been reserved for me, myself and I but I have recently made a point of treating myself to some self-care on a Sunday. This is how #MMLoveSunday came to be and I have been sharing a lot about it on my Instagram and Instagram stories. This is not about treating myself to expensive (and maybe useless) things but more so about taking care of myself, and focusing on myself, my mind and body. You can see more details about this self-care routine in my YouTube video here!
This self-care routine includes easy things like face masks, exfoliation of the face and body, reading a book and maybe even treating yourself to a bubble bath with candles and a glass of wine or bubbly. While I love doing all of these things, I have recently found a pretty awesome addition which will change my life long term. I am talking about at-home laser hair removal with the help of the Silk'n Infinity. This device is so handy and comfortable to use at home - it is incredible.
In generous partnership with Silk'n Technology
Skin Prep
In order to get the best results for at-home hair removal, I make sure to exfoliate my skin to expose any ingrown hairs. This also helps to get rid of dry skin and helps stimulate circulation. Shaving is a very important step, because the Silk'n Infinity device will laser the root of the hair - it burns the follicle. Shaving is always advised before Laser hair removal. The skin should also be clean and dry before starting the treatment.
Laser Hair Removal
The device is very easy to use, just plug it in and select the first level to start - you gradually work your way up to higher levels to increase the intensity of the laser. The HPL technology is best for high contrast skin and hair, for example light skin tones and dark hair, but the Silk'n Infinity has a built-in optical sensor which detects if you are the right candidate. Now that the setting is selected, just glide the device across the area and pulse the front and back button until a red light appears. Repeat until you have covered the area. There is no pain or discomfort. The time commitment is about 5-7min for the legs and 1-2 min for underarms - as you can see it is very quick and easy!
Since the Silk'n Infinity uses Galvanic energy to open the pores, it makes sure the most stubborn hairs are reached. It also uses Optical Energy which helps improve skin’s circulation and tone while maximizing the absorption of any post treatment care like lotion, oils etc. It’s basically a two in one treatment of hair removal and skin stimulation! Treatments 1-4 should happen two weeks apart and the remaining 4 treatments just once every month. After this treatment plan, it is only to be used as needed.
I would then finish off my #MMLoveSunday with a great book on the couch and either tea or a glass of bubbly in hand. It is the perfect opportunity to love yourself more, show appreciation to yourself and your body and just make sure that our busy lifestyle does not end up consuming us completely.
