Why do we need Vitamin C in our beauty products, isn't eating a lot of citrus fruits enough to get the benefits? Consuming the Vitamin through food is great for your health and immune system, but using it in your skincare brings out a whole bunch of other great benefits. The most important point I need to make here is that whenever using Vitamin C, use a high quality product, otherwise you will most likely not see any changes in your skin. With Vitamin C especially, the key ingredients diminish when exposed to too much light or air, so the products most likely will have a time release technology which ensures that the Vitamin C is in fact still in the product when it arrives to the consumer.
Vitamin C boosts your skin's collagen production to give you firmer, more plump skin and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles. The antioxidant properties of vitamin C help fight free radicals and damage caused by UV radiation. The result is anti-aging action for younger-looking skin!
VITAMIN C SERUMS
Vitanin C comes in many different products, how do you pick the right one for you?! Whenever someone asks me this question, I never suggest to throw away your entire beauty regime, but instead add a good Vitamin C serum to your range of products you are using.
Vitamin C generally targets overall skin texture with the natural acids and aids in exfoliation that is non-abrasive. Further benefits include fighting lines and wrinkles, protect from sun damage and overall brighting of the skin.
So based on these benefits that you could see in your skin, decide for yourself how aggressive your change in your skin regime should be. Maybe add one product like a serum or toner, or go all the way and try a new product line.
A great new range I have been trying is the Rodial Vitamin C series. Its active and time-released Vitamin C targets all the problems like skin brightness, lines and protects the skin from sun damage. It is like eating the same food every day, sometimes our skin needs something a little different, so trying a complete range of products is great if your skin looks dull and tired.
VITAMIN C CREAMS
If you are trying to find a great cream that contains Vitamin C, I have selected a few that have worked wonders for my skin. The most important here again is that you find a product that has time-released Vitamin C, otherwise the goodness may be gone before you get a chance to actually use it up.
Here is to bright skin and protecting it from the environment and sun! Also check out my article on SPF- how to use it, and how to make sure to re-apply every two hours, even if you are wearing make up.
